Danny’s view as Owls make it four away league wins from five

Danny Rohl praised the mentality and belief of his players as Wednesday battled back from behind to clinch the 2-1 added time victory at Derby on Sunday afternoon.

The Owls boss was disappointed with our start, falling behind inside 10 minutes, but added: “Big, big credit to the team for coming back. We showed good mentality and belief to come back like we did.

“It was not our best away performance but four wins from five away games in the Championship is very strong and it was another hard-working victory.

“Thanks as well to our massive fans, it was an incredible atmosphere at the end … and another small step in our journey.”

Rohl spoke of how he changed the team’s shape four times during the match, praised the crucial save from James Beadle with the score at 1-0 to Derby, along with the contribution of his substitutes and said of the goals: “Barry scored another nice goal today on his birthday, it was outstanding.

“And yesterday, I watched some clips of Jamal and I said to him that today is a good time to score and that he can do it.

“It was a strong assist from Callum Paterson as well, he fought for it.

“All in all, big credit to my team and on Tuesday we start again to prepare for the next game on Saturday.”
