Danny ponders changes for Coventry clash

Wednesday face another tough test in our Championship survival bid tomorrow when play-off chasing Coventry come to Hillsborough.

A 4-0 defeat at Southampton last Saturday left us four points from safety and Coventry will also be looking to complete a quickfire double after beating us on Boxing Day.

Danny Rohl could make changes to his starting eleven and has to decide whether to blood recent loan signings James Beadle and Iké Ugbo as we look to bounce back from that heavy reverse at St Mary’s.

Beadle, who was on the bench against the Saints, is now in a straight fight for the keeper’s position with Cameron Dawson after Devis Vasquez returned to Milan this week following his loan spell at S6. Vasquez has since joined Serie B side Ascoli on loan for the rest of the season.

Striker Ugbo did not figure last weekend but Rohl said yesterday that the player is settling in well and it would be no surprise to see him in the squad against Coventry.

George Byers is available after his three-match ban while Callum Paterson has recovered from the concussion injury sustained in that Christmas defeat at Coventry but is now sidelined with a knee problem.

Of our rivals at the foot of the table, Huddersfield travel to Blackburn tomorrow, QPR host Millwall while bottom club Rotherham are at Middlesbrough.

Coventry have won five of their last six matches, including a victory over league leaders Leicester last weekend and sit just outside the play-offs.
