Fernando Forestieri was left out of the Wednesday squad against QPR, seemingly for disciplinary reasons.
Thee were reports of an alleged training ground bust-up between Forestieri and team-mate Sam Winnall and Forestieri was missing from the matchday squad on Saturday, while Winnall came on as a first-half sub and slotted home Wednesday’s goal after the break.
Carlos Carvalhal said it was an internal matter and explained: “I don’t want to create a big case here because it is something that happens in all the clubs in the world. It is not a big problem that we have on our hands but of course we must manage the situation and we have a discipline. If we don’t have discipline then we’ll never win a game.”
Carvalhal would not comment on whether Forestieri would be considered for the squad to play Sunderland on Wednesday.
