Carlos Carvalhal saluted his players after Wednesday produced an outstanding performance to take all three points at table-topping Newcastle.
After watching our victory through a 53rd minute Glenn Loovens header – his first goal for the club – Carvalhal said: “My players were fantastic. They even upgraded the plan we had.”
He added: “We prepared well for the match, we knew what we needed to do to win the game … I think their goalkeeper was their best payer which is a sign we created clearcut chances.”
The head coach also praised the backing of the Wednesday fans and said: “I said before the game we are Sheffield Wednesday. We are a brand, we are not an easy team for any opponent in the Championship. We will fight for the three points against all the teams.”
