Assistant boss Lee Bullen voiced his frustrations – and that of 20,000 Wednesday fans – after the goalless draw with MK Dons.
He said: “It was a very frustrating night all round. We never got going in the first half and a few words were said at half-time, with Carlos wanting the players to show more drive.”
Bullen said the half-time introduction of Atdhe Nuhiu gave the MK Dons something different to think about and helped provide a missing spark from the first 45 minutes.
He said he did not see the sending off incident involving Ross Wallace as he was still watching Fernando Forestieri receiving his yellow card for a supposed dive.
Bullen said: “I don’t believe it was a yellow card. The referee was very quick to make the decision, instead of thinking about it.”
