Di’Shon Bernard is expected to return for our latest ‘must-win’ match when we take on Plymouth at Hillsborough this evening.
Wednesday go into the game on the back of four wins in our last five outings, sitting just three points from the Championship safety line, and Bernard is likely to come straight back into the starting line-up after his one-match ban.
Other teams fighting for survival have also been showing an upsurge in form and, with bottom side Rotherham seemingly doomed, it leaves the next nine clubs covered by just seven points before tonight’s kick-offs.
After our match with Plymouth this evening, we then face tough tests against promotion-chasing Leeds and Ipswich, underlining the importance of getting a victory against the Pilgrims.
Of our relegation rivals also playing tonight, Stoke are at Leeds, Birmingham travel to Hull and fellow strugglers Blackburn and Millwall clash at Ewood Park … while our opponents Plymouth are only five points clear of us.
Tomorrow evening, Huddersfield are at Cardiff, QPR entertain West Brom and Swansea go to Watford.
Danny Rohl said after Saturday’s win at Rotherham: “We are the hunter and we will keep fighting, keep giving everything to stay in the Championship.
“This is four wins from five games, my players have been outstanding.
“We have given ourselves a good chance and we now have two home games at night to look forward to with Plymouth and Leeds.
“We have a huge week ahead and we need the points.”
