Bannan hoping to be back for Stoke clash

Barry Bannan could return to the starting line-up for our Good Friday trip to Stoke City.

The skipper missed last Saturday’s home defeat to Oxford with an ankle problem but the signs are that he may well be back for the game, with Danny Rohl saying: “My skipper wants to play and that is a good signal.”

Wednesday are in 14th place on 53 points and we will be hoping for a 10th away win of the season while Stoke will be looking to take another step towards Championship survival, sitting five points clear of the relegation places with four games remaining.

Rohl said there are also question marks over the fitness of Michael Ihiekwe after he took a knock in training and Anthony Musaba, who has an ankle injury. Both will face late tests.

Meanwhile, Charlie McNeill, Gabriel Otegbayo and Olaf Kobacki could be in the squad again while Pierce Charles is likely to keep his place in goal.

We go into the game without a win in five matches but will be cheered on by another sellout away following of more than 3,000 fans and Stoke are expecting a near capacity crowd at the bet365 Stadium.
