Bailey talks of “big step in right direction” after signing new deal

Young striker Bailey Cadamarteri has spoken about his decision to sign a new contract at Wednesday.

The 18-year-old, who has been with us since playing for the Owls under-nines, was given his first team debut by new boss Danny Rohl as a substitute against Millwall last month and grabbed his first senior goal for the club in the 3-1 win over Blackburn at the start of December.

He penned a new deal today and said: “I’m very pleased and very happy, it’s a big step in the right direction and hopefully I can push on from here.

“Wednesday is a massive club, the fans are massive and the club is massive. Being here from a young age it’s the best place for me to stay.”

Cadamarteri added: “The new manager has put a lot of trust in me and I’m just happy that I’ve been able to repay him with a few good performances, so far.”
