Gray ponders changes for Ipswich test

Stuart Gray could make changes for tonight’s Hillsborough clash with Mick McCarthy’s Ipswich side.

At the back, Gray has to decide whether to stick with Lewis Buxton in the middle of defence in place of the injured Tom Lees. Alternatively, he could recall Kamil Zayatte after suspension or give a start to Claude Dielna.

In midfield, Kieran Lee is likely to be on the bench after his groin injury and, with Gray calling for more creativity from this area, he will be tempted to shuffle the pack.

Giles Coke, Chris Maguire and Jacques Maghoma could all find their positions under threat, with Jeremy Helan, Royston Drenthe and Hallam Hope all possible starters. Gray may also consider moving Liam Palmer into midfield and slotting fit-again Buxton in at right back.

Ipswich, who are looking for their fifth Championship win in a row, are likely to include in-form David McGoldrick up front, the striker having had a short loan spell with us three years ago.
