Josh Windass is on course to make the Wednesday squad for next Saturday’s home game with Cheltenham Town.
Commenting after the Gillingham game on the striker’s long-awaited return from injury, Darren Moore said: “He’ll be fine for Cheltenham – as long as we don’t get any reaction from him in training, he’ll be back next week.
“We got Chey back today, Dom Iorfa last week, Lee Gregory had 90 minutes today. We’ll have a look at Josh and possibly Mide Shodipo.
“Josh has been training behind the scenes for the past three weeks now. We feel to get him back would be great.
”He was due to come back today but another seven days in him will be good. He’s a massive player for us.
“To have somebody with his technical ability, especially against teams like today with the low block, and his prowess in tight areas will be massive for us.”
Liam Palmer and Lewis Gibson could both be out for up to a month after scans revealed the pair have picked up strains.
