We’ll bounce back from defeat says Carlos

Carlos Carvalhal is sure his Wednesday side will come back strongly after the 4-1 hammering at Bristol City.

Carvalhal said: “We have a lot of things to correct in the next game. We have two home games now and we will react because I know my team.”

The head coach called the squad together for an on-the-pitch rallying call huddle at the end of the match and, reflecting on the performance, he said: “We started very well and had two good chances to score.

“However, we lost control of the game after their second goal which we usually don’t do and Bristol City deserved their lead at the break.

“It was an off-day for the team and these things can happen in a long Championship like this.”

He added that he made changes at half-time to try to get back in the game and that we might have retrieved more than one goal, particularly when Marco Matias had a good penalty appeal turned down.
