Wednesday’s double date live on Sky

Wednesday will be live on Sky at Hillsborough twice in less than a week.

The home game with Leeds has been brought forward from the Saturday to Friday, September 28, kick off 7.45pm, for the TV cameras and our midweek S6 match with West Brom goes ahead as scheduled on October 3 but will also be screened by Sky,

The decision to move the Leeds game to a Friday night will be a controversial one in many quarters.

When the same switch was made in October 2012 for the TV cameras, there was trouble between rival supporters and Owls keeper Chris Kirkland was attacked by a Leeds fan, who invaded the pitch during the game.

This season’s match had already been switched to a lunchtime kick off on the Saturday, on the advice of the police, but has now been moved to a Friday evening … with the obvious possibility of some fans drinking for much of the day and then causing trouble again at the derby clash.
