The Owls went down to two first-half goals at Norwich on Wednesday evening.
After a lively start from Wednesday, the Canaries began to dominate as the game developed and they broke the deadlock 15 minutes from half time. Seny Dieng saved from Ali Ahmed, Mathias Kvistgaarden headed the rebound against the bar and was then first to the ball to nod home from inside the six-yard box.
Nine minutes later it was 2-0 when Paris Maghoma shot home with an excellent finish from 20 yards.
Wednesday went close to pulling a goal back soon after half time but Charlie McNeill’s effort deflected off Kellen Fisher and went inches wide.
Norwich were seemingly content with their two-goal lead and, while we rallied as the game wore on, our only other clear opening came when Joe Emery sent a header just off target.
Wednesday: Dieng, Palmer, Iorfa (Emery 46), McGhee (Johnson 72), Adaramola, McNeill (Fusire 59), Thornton, Ingelsson, Heskey, Ndala (Yates 59), J Lowe (Grainger 88). Unused subs: Stretch, Shipston, Moses, Maltby.
