Wednesday looking for lucky 13 to break Championship duck

Wednesday’s search for a much-needed first Championship win of the season takes Danny Rohl’s men on the 600-mile round journey to Plymouth tomorrow evening.

The new manager’s first game in charge saw a far more competitive and organised display from the Owls but a late Watford winner means it is now 12 league games without a win and we sit rock bottom on three points, nine from safety before a full programme of midweek Championship matches.

Rohl has no new injury problems for the trip to Home Park to face a Plymouth side who are also finding life tough after being promoted alongside Wednesday at the end of last season, the Pilgrims currently fourth from bottom of the table.

* Marvin Johnson, ‘frozen out’ by previous manager Xisco Munoz, got his first action of the season this afternoon when he played 45 minutes in the under-21s’ 4-0 win at Coventry. Luke Cook scored twice for Wednesday, with further goals from Sean Fusire and Bailey Cadamarteri – his 11th of the season – in another impressive performance from the youngsters.
