Hillsborough is ready to house another bumper crowd when we take on Norwich on Wednesday evening.
Following our recent 12-point deduction after going into administration, we find ourselves 17 points from safety before kick off, with visitors Norwich the nearest team to us, sitting 13 points ahead of the Owls.
However, the departure of owner Dejphon Chansiri and arrival of administrators to manage the club’s affairs has breathed new life into Wednesday, both on and off the field, and the Norwich match is the latest opportunity for supporters to get behind the team.
Kris Wigfield, one of three administrators appointed to take over the running of the club until a new owner is appointed, has branded the Canaries clash as a Blue and White Bonfire Night spectacular.
Mr Wigfield, who has also been a Wednesday season ticket holder since the mid-eighties, said: “The players showed incredible heart at West Brom on Saturday and the supporters have shown real heart through everything you’ve done for this club.
“Now it’s time to bring that same fight home. On Wednesday, we return to Hillsborough for Blue and White Night — and this one means more than just football.
“This is our night and it’s definitely our fight — a night to light up Hillsborough with pride, passion and belief.”
Wednesday legends David Hirst, Chris Waddle, Terry Curran, Imre Varadi, Mel Sterland and Rodger Wylde will kick off the evening by going along to the club megastore from 4.30pm-5.30pm to sign autographs and have selfies taken with the fans.
Mr Wigfield added: “What the team need now is you — a full, loud, together Hillsborough behind them.
“Come early, wear your blue and white colours and be part of the atmosphere.”
Turnstiles open at 6pm and there are offers of £7.50 for a Pie and Pint until 6.45pm and Pie and Pop for £6 for the same duration.
