Garry Monk will be expected to switch back to his ‘Championship squad’ for Sunday’s lunchtime clash at Bristol City.
Not surprisingly, Monk changed the entire starting 11 for the midweek Carabao Cup tie at Fulham but is ready, largely at least, to look to the players who earnt a point against Watford last weekend for what will be a fifth away game in our first six matches of the season.
He could give a starting place up front to Elias Kachunga while Moses Odubajo might be called up to the squad after impressing at Fulham and we wait to see if Alex Hunt has recovered from a knee injury to take his place in the 18.
Wednesday are on minus eight points after a win and a draw in our first two games while City, who are likely to have ex-Owl Chris Brunt in their squad, have won both their opening league matches – at home to Coventry and then away at Stoke.
Garry Monk said: “We are in a phase where we are facing teams where their remits are definitely to be up there this season. We have done well with the first two against this type of team and it will be another tough one.
“They have obviously had a really good start. It is going to be another tough game but if we can perform anything like we did in the game after lockdown then we’ll be in a good position to try and take points.”
