Wednesday aiming to bounce back at Coventry

Wednesday look to bounce back from the weekend’s late defeat to Cardiff when we travel to Coventry on Boxing Day.

The 2-1 reverse against the Bluebirds meant we failed to gain ground on relegation rivals Rotherham, QPR and Huddersfield, who all also lost on Saturday, but on the plus-side we didn’t move further adrift and remain six points from safety.

With the Owls facing the second of four games in 10 days, Danny Rohl may well look to freshen the starting eleven for what promises to be a tough challenge against a Coventry side who are unbeaten in their last four fixtures and go into the match on the back of a 3-0 win at Sunderland on Saturday.

Of our fellow strugglers, two of them – Millwall and QPR – meet at the New Den in a lunchtime kick off, Rotherham are at home to Middlesbrough, Huddersfield entertain Blackburn and Stoke are at Birmingham in an early evening start.

We will be backed by a sellout 4,000 travelling Wednesdayites.
