Henrik Pedersen called on his Wednesday players to produce today’s second-half fighting spirit and bravery for the entire 90 minutes after the 2-1 reverse at Charlton.
Having witnessed a lacklustre first half from the Owls and then seeing his team dominate the second 45 for large periods, Pedersen said: “We need to be brave from the beginning of the first half.
“To win football games, the bravery we showed in the second period we should have had for 95 minutes.
“The boys do all they can every single minute of the game but the first goal is too easy to give away in the Championship. Then we give away the set-piece goal and it’s tough to be 2-0 down.
“We made some small changes at the break but it was more about the belief and the character from the boys, the courage in the second half.
Pedersen also praised the 3,000-plus travelling support who showed their appreciation to the team at the final whistle despite the defeat, saying: “The little moment after the game was special with the players and the fans, we are one team and everyone knows we are together.
“How the players and fans were one today, it was amazing.”
