Darren Moore spoke of the team’s mindset and belief after seeing Wednesday overturn a 4-0 first leg deficit against Peterborough and clinch a place in the League One play-off final following a 5-3 penalty shootout victory in a night of high drama and emotions at Hillsborough.
The Owls boss, who also delivered a congratulatory speech to the team in the dressing room after an enthralling evening of football, said: “When it came to penalties we were prepared for it. We’ve worked on them in training. We got the goals, we kept our head in the moments.
“We had a strong belief, we honestly did. We showed them videos of great comebacks in the week and the mindset was right.
“The game was full of emotions and we had a wonderful belief.
“We knew at half-time we were on course for it. It’s not quite sunk in yet and we’ve witnessed a historical game.”
