Wednesday slipped to second bottom on goal difference after the single goal reverse at Ewood Park and face a trip to bottom club Ipswich on Saturday. However, Jones remained upbeat, saying: “If we can play like we did tonight, then I have no doubt we will turn this run around.”
He added: “We played a side who have come down from the Premier League and the way we performed gives me a lot confidence – we just need that break.”
Jones rued the lack of a finishing touch, saying: ”We did everything but score tonight and it’s frustrating. I don’t think anyone will come away from that game not thinking that we have absolutely battered them.
“We are so close but it’s the final ball that’s letting us down. We’ve had over 15 chances in the game but have not put the ball in the back of the net, which is the hardest thing to do.”
