Pierce Charles played the full 90 minutes as Northern Ireland went down 3-1 to France in a friendly in Lille this evening.

Charles saw plenty of action as, not unexpectedly, the home side dominated the match before flying off to the World Cup as one of the pre-tournament favourites.

Two Michael Olise goals either side of half time put France in control and, although ex-Owls loanee Shea Charles set up Patrick Kelly to make it 2-1, Olise completed his hat-trick 15 minutes from time when he curled into the top corner of the net from the edge of the box.

Meanwhile, Will Grainger and Logan Stretch both played the first 45 minutes as Wales under-19s went down 3-1 to Sweden in a friendly in Valencia today.

The teams were locked at 1-1 at half time, Wales having gone ahead early on with the Swedes levelling midway through the half.

The opposition then took the lead just after half time and made sure of victory with a further goal on 89 minutes.
