‘That was two points lost today’

Darren Moore spoke of “two points lost” as we had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Lincoln after dominating the game.

The Owls boss said: “It is two points dropped. We were dominant. I said to the boys at half-time that we should have been out of sight.

“We’ve had the perfect start and then created so many chances but you have to take them and today we didn’t.

“Lincoln only had one chance really and they scored from it, while we were wasteful and that’s the story of the game.”

Reflecting on the soft Lincoln equaliser, Moore said: “It is concentration. It is a mundane goal. There was nothing intricate about it and the ball looked like it went in from slow motion.

“No matter how much you dominate a game, the other team will create chances.

“We should have won the game with the chances we created and that’s the most frustrating thing. The opportunity was there to take maximum points.”

Ben Heneghan had to be helped off the field after a second-half challenge and Moore said: “He’s the worry for me. He’s come off in pain, he was helped off the pitch and he’s in there now with ice on the injury.

“We need for it to settle down over the next day or two, we will get the report from the medical department but yes, right now it’s a worry.”
