Smith: Performance gives us real belief for final three games

Jamie Smith is looking for Wednesday to take tonight’s performance in the 1-0 win over Blackburn into the final three games of the season and give us a chance of surviving relegation from the Championship.

Assistant manager Smith, continuing to stand in for pneumonia victim Darren Moore, said: “It was a spirited performance and it gives us that belief. We have three games to go and we’ll be doing all we can to win them. We can take positivity and confidence from that display.

“We’re delighted with the players and we were disciplined with and without the ball. Blackburn have a lot quality in their team but we keep creating chances and tonight one goal was enough for us.”

Referring to Moore, Smith said: “Darren is feeling a lot better which is really pleasing. He has been in contact with us throughout today, he is improving and recovering well at home.”
