Rohl: We were not strong enough in both boxes

Danny Rohl said he felt Norwich deserved their win over Wednesday … despite the Owls edging possession and having 21 shots.

The Owls boss said after the 3-1 defeat: “We were not strong enough in both boxes. We had more ball possession than the opponent, we had chances but in the end it is about scoring and we were not able to do this tonight.

“I think in the end it was deserved for our opponent because they were better in the key moments.”

He added: “We tried everything and had good solutions with the ball against a good pressing team.

“It was not a bad game from us but in the end it was not enough. Now it is about us going forward and improving and we will be ready on Saturday.

“For sure we could do better with the goals we conceded. For 2-1 we were not organised in our wide position, for the third goal we didn’t have pressure on the ball and for me it didn’t feel a dangerous situation but, yes, these are the key moments in the game.

“It is about defending well and being ready in the offence for our scoring.”

Josh Windass and Michael Smith were both absent at Norwich, due to injury, and we wait to see if they are fit to return to the squad for the QPR clash at Hillsborough on Saturday.
