Danny Rohl felt Wednesday were worthy winners after the 2-0 victory at Hull on Tuesday evening.
After once again creating plenty of first-half chances but only scoring once, we found ourselves spending more time in our own half after the interval, defending that one-goal lead.
Rohl said: “All in all, we deserved the win.
“In the first half we were outstanding with the ball. Against the ball there are points we have to improve – we dropped a little bit deep and then it was about box defending.
“In the first 20 minutes we had so many chances and you never know how many chances you will get again, so we have to improve in that area.
“The win is another small step again, no more, but in the end it was fully deserved.
“I have a lot of things we can still improve on and we go again on Sunday.”
On the substitutions of Josh Windass and Ike Ugbo at half time, the manager added: “Josh had a little bit of a tight hamstring while Ike had a good performance, a big step on his way.
“But it was to get fresh bodies in, not about performance. I wanted to bring more speed with the introduction of Musaba.”
