Rohl sets minimum play-off points target ahead of Cardiff test

Wednesday go into Saturday’s match at struggling Cardiff still holding outside hopes of an end-of-season winning sequence to project us into the Championship play-offs.

Following the international break we sit in 12th place on 51 points, six adrift of the final play-off spot with eight games to play and Danny Rohl believes we need a minimum of six wins from the run-in, taking us to 69 points, to have any chance of making the end-of-season showdown.

Rohl said: “With 69 points you have a small chance, not the biggest chance, but it could be enough.

“It is a challenge but my team can do this. I see a group that is ambitious and hungry and a group that wants to play.”

Max Lowe is ruled out for the rest of the season after his injury against Sheff U while the Cardiff game could be too soon for Stuart Armstrong and Yan Valery as they work their way back to match fitness.

Akin Famewo has returned to full training after a near five-month lay-off and Rohl has to decide whether the defender is ready to be recalled to the squad.
