Danny Rohl hailed Wednesday’s battling performance on the field and the support of the 5,000-fans off the pitch after our 1-0 win at Preston last night.
He said: “It was unbelievable really, the way we fought, the way we are giving everything, the way we are fighting for every ball.
“Around the team, from the back to the front, my players gave everything they had.
“In front of those fans, more than 5,000 of them, it was incredible. I have to say a massive thank you to them for coming out to support the team away from home on a Friday night between Christmas and New Year. You give us so much energy.”
Ahead of the New Year’s Day home game with Hull, we now wait to see the extent of the first-half injuries at Preston to Akin Famewo and Will Vaulks.
In addition, Wednesday have to decide whether to appeal the red card shown to George Byers five minutes from time at Preston after his challenge on Mads Frokjaer-Jensen and a seeming subsequent off-the-ball incident.
