Max Lowe is understood to have handed in his notice to leave Wednesday.

BBC Radio Sheffield reported the news today and this comes a day after the club’s failure to pay players, and other staff, on time for the fourth month in the last five.

Players paid late in consecutive months can tender a notice period to the club, effectively allowing them to walk away from their contracts as free agents. It is believed that others may also take this action, with the dressing room extremely unhappy over the situation and the lack of communication from chairman Dejphon Chansiri to all staff.

If other players do follow suit, it will leave our already threadbare squad looking even weaker as we prepare for the scheduled Championship opener at Leicester in just over a week’s time.
