Players come under fire from Gray

Stuart Gray was critical of his side at both ends of the pitch as Wednesday slumped to the 2-0 defeat at Reading.

Gray said: “We didn’t do well when we didn’t have the ball. Too many of my players were not winning 50-50 challenges.

“The only time they really got to the byline twice we didn’t stop the cross and there is free space and free men in the box for them to score their goals.

“That’s the didappointing thing, the way we conceded the goals – and then we are chasing the game.”

Reflecting on another blank at the other end of the pitch, Gray said: “We got into some good areas again but I can’t remember the keeper having to pull off a fantastic save.

“We’ve got to stick the ball in the net and the players have to take more responsibility.”
