Henrik Pedersen and Barry Bannan have both spoken about the club going into administration and being deducted 12 points.
Manager Pedersen said: “It is a sad situation that at a club with our history, this amazing club, has to go into administration and the consequence of a 12-point deduction,
“However, this is one side of the bread. The other is it is also start of a new era, we can get a fresh restart again and start to look into the future to create something positive again.
“How it was, it couldn’t continue. What this club and the fans deserve is the fundamental to reach the level for this club in the future and that something should happen.”
Skipper Bannan said: “We totally got what the fans were doing with their protests and as players and staff we were never against what they were doing.
“Now we need them more than ever. We have needed them all season at home and unfortunately we’ve not really had that atmosphere.
“Now the fans have got what they wanted this is where we really need them to come and get behind us – and be that extra man.
“It was hard the other night with no crowd and not the way Hillsborough should be.
“Hopefully, we can see the flipside tomorrow, that the fans come out in their numbers and push us on. It’s going to be a big, big game for us and hopefully we can get a big result for them.”
He added: “When you sign for this club you realise it’s a massive club in the city.
“It’s really well supported but the last few games playing at home it hasn’t felt like that club – it’s been a different club.
“Away from home the support has been unbelievable, amazing, probably better than ever.
“I’ve been trying my hardest not to be down but it’s been hard because I know this club deserves way better and deserves to be in the best league in the world.
“That’s what this club deserves and to be honest we’re a million miles away from it at the minute.
“I was gutted with the news this morning but sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to come back again and, if ever there’s a club that can do it then it’s this one because the fan base is amazing.”
