New signing Marnick Vermijl says he is keen to get playing after joining Wednesday in a three-and-a-half year deal from Manchester United.
Belgian-born Vermijl, a 23-year-old defender whose preferred postion is right back, signed for United from Standard Liege in 2010 but made just two first-team appearances for them – both in the League Cup – and spent most of last season on loan at Dutch club, NEC.
He will wear shirt number 36 after joining for an undisclosed fee and said after agreeing the move: “T’m really excited. This is a fantastic place to play your football and now I just want to pull on the shirt and play.
“We are nine points off the play-offs and there is everything to play for.”
