Wednesday will be without Nathaniel Chalobah at Ipswich tomorrow after he picked up another injury in training on Thursday.

The midfielder only returned to action recently after getting injured at Leicester on the opening day of the season and, with Yan Valery and Sean Fusire both now away at the African Cup of Nations, it leaves Henrik Pedersen with only eight senior players for the trip to Portman Road.

Ipswich are sitting in the play-off places, having lost just once at home this season, and Wednesday face the toughest of challenges after a winless run stretching back for 14 matches.

Looking beyond the Ipswich game, Pedersen said: “We need players. We know it takes time to get everything done with a new owner and right now we don’t know who the new owner will be or the reaction from the EFL, so there are a lot of questions before we know what we can do in the January transfer window.”
