Wednesday staged a late fightback but went down 3-2 in a training match against Portimonense in Portugal tonight.
A squad of first-teamers, fringe players and youngsters fell behind before the break through a Sean Clare own goal and then conceded twice more on 72 and 76 minutes, with Tabata and Zambujo on the mark.
Fernando Forestieri pulled a goal back with a fine drive from the edge of the box with 12 minutes to go and Steven Fletcher made it 3-2 in the 85th minute but the Owls were unable to find an equaliser in the closing stages.
