New signing George Boyd has spoken of his aim to help get Wednesday back to the Premier League after our failures in the play-offs in the last two seasons.
The 31-year-old midfielder was snapped up from top-flight Burnley on a free transfer, the Owls offering him a two-year contract compared to only 12 months from the Clarets.
And, after completing the Hillsborough move, Boyd said: “Obviously the club have been close over the last two years and hopefully I can help get them over the line this time.
“It is a club that needs to be in the Premier League with the fans and the structure of the club.”
He added: “As soon as I knew of Wednesday’s interest it was a no-brainer for me.”
