Moore’s pre-match thoughts on sellout league finale

Darren Moore says Wednesday will prepare for tomorrow’s sellout league season finale with Derby at Hillsborough in the same way as they have throughout the campaign.

We go into the match with third place guaranteed and knowing we will face the team finishing in sixth in the upcoming League One play-offs, while opponents Derby require a point to guarantee their place in the end-of-season chase to be in the Championship next season.

Moore said: “We’ll approach it with the same format, detail and commitment as we’ve done for the previous 45 games.

“Our points tally so far showcases where this team has been this season. But we’re not a team to rest on our laurels and we have another game to focus on. The players have to remain determined to keep our form going.

“We’ve equalled the club record of 93 points so we have the chance to set another record. We’re also at home in front of our fans. And for Derby they know that to keep it in their own hands, they’ll want to come and win the game.

“It bodes well for an entertaining match.”

The game, which is live on Sky Sports, kicks off at 12 noon and the National Anthem will be played prior to the start of the match to celebrate and recognise the Coronation of His Majesty, King Charles III and the Queen Consort.
