Darren Moore praised both the youngsters and his senior squad players following much-changed Wednesday’s 2-0 Papa Johns Trophy win over Leicester’s under-21s at Hillsborough tonight.
After watching his team of those on the fringe of the first team coupled with promising young players, Moore said: “It was a chance to see the youngsters at a competitive level and every single one of them can feel pleased with their performances.”
On goalscoring debutant Will Trueman, he added: “He is all energy and he wants the ball.
“He wants to get in the box and score goals. He’s overjoyed with his goal and I’m really pleased for him.”
Reflecting on the performances of the senior players, Moore said: “I am really pleased with them. For those players to get competitive minutes under their belts, we knew it was spot on for us.”
