Darren Moore praised two-goal Lee Gregory after a workmanlike win for Wednesday at Cambridge.
The Owls boss said: “I’m pleased for Lee because his form has been fine. But we know strikers are judged on goals and that’s what he got today.
“We had a chat in midweek and I told him to be patient, the goals will come.”
On the overall performance, Moore said: “It’s another three points and another clean sheet. We did what we had to do. When I look at the game, we could have used the ball better but we’ve come here for the win and we go home with the win.
“We were dogged and determined, very resolute. The clean sheet is another positive. Cambridge had a lot of the ball but I don’t recall David Stockdale having too many saves to make.”
