Moore hopes for Bannan return against Fleetwood

Darren Moore is hoping Barry Bannan will be back in the Wednesday line-up for tomorrow’s trip to Fleetwood Town.

The captain was sorely missed in last week’s poor performance in the goalless draw at home to Oxford but has trained this week after his muscle injury and Moore is hoping he will be available at Fleetwood.

The manager said at Thursday’s press conference that George Byers and Dennis Adeniran are also in contention for a return to the squad after their lengthy lay-offs, saying: “At the moment George, Baz and Dennis are all training.

“Obviously there’s a couple more training sessions to go before the game but hopefully it’ll be that all three will be available for Fleetwood.”

We go into the game in third place, on a 10-match unbeaten run and four points behind leaders Plymouth. However, our last three games have yielded just three points and one goal and Moore said: “The last few performances haven’t been us. It’s about maintaining the focus on good performances.

“Those last few have been a little bit of a concern but we continue to work and have identified areas where we need to be better.”

Fleetwood are in 16th place in the table. Plymouth are at Cheltenham tomorrow while Ipswich entertain Oxford.
