Moore full of praise for defensive formation

Darren Moore was pleased to see Wednesday chalk up a clean sheet, as well as the three points, in our 1-0 win over Ipswich today.

Loan signings Harlee Dean and Jordan Storey formed a new defensive formation, alongside Sam Hutchinson, and Moore reflected afterwards: “Jordan and Harlee are physically dominant and nullified their threat.. Centre back is a natural position for them and I wanted the three of them in there because they are out and out defenders.

“The whole team mucked in today. Our concentration levels were spot on, I don’t remember Ipswich creating that many chances, which is credit to all the players.”

He added: “I was really pleased with three points against good opposition. We were solid and resolute when they threatened and we had chances to make it two.”

Lee Gregory was missing from today’s squad after suffering a foot injury at Oxford last weekend and will be monitored during the coming week.
