Wednesday boss Darren Moore hailed tonight’s tremendous FA Cup win over Newcastle at Hillsborough as one of his best days as a manager.
After seeing the Owls inflict just a second defeat of the season on the Premier League Magpies, Moore added: “It’s a wonderful night for everyone connected with Sheffield Wednesday. We played with so much energy, the fans had so much energy, it was a superb all-round performance.
“That’s what I called for and that’s what I got and it was excellent to see. The boys thoroughly deserved it and I’m so pleased for the fans.
“Josh will get the headlines and rightly so as a striker but that was a proper team performance.
“There’s no better place than down here at S6 with an atmosphere like that. I wanted a Premier League team at home, I got that, so for the next round, what will be will be.”
However, Moore quickly turned his attention to our on-going push for promotion, saying: “We have a big game at Wycombe on Saturday and next we prepare for that. Tonight has been a night to remember, but we move on and get back to work.”
