Joe Mattock is ruled out for up to six weeks after being stretchered off at Charlton on Saturday.
Mattock suffered a twisted ankle and is unlikely to return to action before the run-up to the Christmas fixtures.
Wednesday are also set to lose Royston Drenthe through suspension after his sending off for two yellow cards against Bournemouth.
