Milan Mandaric says we need a manager with a winning attitude to replace Dave Jones at Hillsborough.
Speaking today, Mandaric told BBC Radio Shefifeld: “We don’t have much time so we will do things as quickly as we can – but I don’t have one candidate in mind right now.
“We need someone with a winning attitude because we have a lot of quality players and we need a winning culture.
“It’s a challenging job because we are six points adrift of safety and I just hope that we can turn things around.”
Talking of his decision to sack Jones, after just one win in 16 league games, he said: “It’s a great club and we can’t afford to go down, so I had no choice but to make the decision I made.”
He added: “Dave is a good man and I enjoyed the relationship we had but I have to do what is best for the club.
“I hope that the fans support what I have done.”
Stuart Gray takes charge of the side at home to table-toppers Leicester tomorrow night while Stuart Pearce, Ian Holloway, Steve Cotterill, Paulo Di Canio, Benito Carbone and Neil Warnock are just a few of the names so far mentioned as a possible successor to Jones.
And it remains to be seen if Mr Mandaric works quickly to have someone in place for Saturday’s visit of Nottingham Forest.
