Portsmouth’s bid to take striker Chris Maguire back on loan has been reportedly scuppered by a knee injury.
Pompey boss Michael Appleton said that a one-month loan deal for Maguire was lined up until he suffered a knee problem in training on Sunday and apparently could be ruled out for six weeks.
Maguire, who joined Portmouth on loan from Derby last season, signed for Wednesday in the summer for an estimated £200,000 fee but has struggled to gain a starting place.
