Carlos Carvalhal’s only selection poser for Saturday’s Wembley play-off final with Hull looks to be in midfield.
He could name the side that started the 1-1 semi-final second leg draw at Brighton 11 days ago but has to choose in midfield between Alex Lopez and Sam Hutchinson.
Lopez, who replaced Hutchinson in the final weeks of the season as the latter suffered from illness, was subbed for the same player at half-time in the crucial second leg at the Amex.
Hutchinson has had that recent lay-off and he is prone to getting booked for reckless challenges but, on the plus side, his introduction at Brighton helped to steady the Wednesday ship in the second half and Carvalhal may feel he needs that competitive edge in midfield, where Hull are particularly strong.
On the other hand, Lopez offers a more attacking option and he may relish the open spaces of Wembley.
