Promising young midfielder Liam Shaw is set to leave Hillsborough at the end of the season for Celtic.
The 19-year-old, a graduate of the academy at Wednesday, has caught the eye since breaking into the first team on a regular basis this season and is now reported to have a pre-contract agreement with the Scottish club, Celtic manager Neil Lennon confirming the deal.
Shaw’s contract runs out at the end of the season and, due to his age, Celtic will only have to pay a compensation fee, reported to be about £300,000.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that Barry Bannan is ready to agree a new contract with Wednesday.
The midfielder has made almost 250 appearances for the club since joining us in August 2015 and his contract runs out at the end of the season.
