Caolan Lavery continued his recovery from serious injury with two goals for the under-21s today in a 4-1 win over Chesterfield at Middlewood Road.
Lavery, who suffered knee ligament damage at Doncaster in pre-season, was on the bench at Huddersfield on Saturday and scored with a penalty and a header to help defeat the Spireites today.
With Gary Taylor-Fletcher having returned to Leicester after his one-month loan, Lavery will come further into Stuart Gray’s thoughts as Wednesday prepare for the home game with Wigan on Saturday, looking to end a run of three games without scoring and with just three Championship goals all season at Hillsborough.
Emmanuel Dieseruvwe was also on target twice in the under-21s win and the full Owls line-up was: Dawson, Young, Floro, De Havilland, Sanders, Corry, McCabe, Croasdale, Lavery, Meadows, Dieseruvwe. Subs: McDonagh, Hanna, Beatson, Stobbs.
