Chris Kirkland could get a recall to the starting line-up when Wednesday travel to Blackburn on Boxing Day.
He has lost his place to loanee Damien Martinez in recent weeks but may get the nod after the young keeper was faulted in some quarters for both Bournemouth goals on Saturday.
Wednesday will also be hoping to welcome back Connor Wickham and Glenn Loovens at Blackburn. The pair missed the Bournemouth defeat through injury but Loovens was back in training today and and Stuart Gray says he hopes Wickham will train with the rest of the squad on Christmas Day.
Chris Maguire has come back early from his loan spell at Coventry and could figure while fellow striker Atdhe Nuhiu is doubtful after injuring his shoulder on Saturday.
Fit-again Joe Mattock may also return to the starting line-up in place of Reda Johnson, who had another poor game against Bournemouth.
