Fans’ favourite Jose Semedo has joined hometown club Vitoria de Setubal in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Semedo, 32, finished his contract with Wednesday at the end of last season, so ending a six-year career at S6.

During this time he made 167 appearances for the club and his tremendous affection for the Owls and fans was illustrated by the famous ‘Jose Semedo Day’, staged by the supporters when we played at Forest in November 2012.

Semedo has signed a two-year contract at Setubal and he told their website: “I was born in Setúbal and any boy born in this city, before thinking about Sporting, Benfica, or FC Porto, thinks about Vitória. My dream has always been to wear the Vitoria shirt and thank God I was able to accomplish this today.”

The London Owls thank Jose for some great memories …. and wish him every success at Setubal.
