Shea Charles has spoken of how he can’t wait to step out for Wednesday for the rest of the season.
Southampton decided last week to recall him from his season-long loan at Hillsborough but today came the news that Charles is now staying at S6 after the clubs agreed a new arrangement.
Ahead of tomorrow’s tough test at QPR, the midfielder told the club website : “I’m buzzing. That was the plan all along to stay for the season and I was quite surprised when I got the call to say I was being recalled.
“Now to stay and finish the season here, I couldn’t be happier.
“I wanted to join in the summer and since I’ve been here the team, the fans, the coaching staff and the manager have all welcomed me so well at the start and it’s only got better.
“I’ve loved every minute and there’s no reason why I wouldn’t want to stay.”
Charles is expected to be in the squad at an in-form QPR who have won their last four league matches and now sit ahead of us on goal difference, both of us on 38 points.
We are four points adrift of the play-off places going into this weekend’s Championship fixtures but with only only one win in our last six league matches.
