Wednesday have today confirmed that Jeremy Helan has left the club by mutual consent.
Helan, who played 145 times for the Owls, is reported elsewhere to have decided to walk away from football as he wishes to concentrate on religious studies.
He initially joined on loan from Manchester City in 2012, before signing on a permanent basis in the following summer, and filled both left back and left midfield roles.
The 24-year-old impressed immediately with his pace down the left flank but failed to fully realise what appeared to be greater potential and has been a fringe player under Carlos Carvalhal.
